What a great morning at the Lancaster, PA meet-up for the Hope Noted 5K event! We walked/ran to spread hope and show our support for one another’s mental health. Feeling encouraged, empowered, and grateful!

We are so excited to kick off this event tomorrow in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month! We’ll be posting photos and videos the next three days of participants walking and running from all over, making a difference and passing on hope! How empowering!

✨ This giveback event is raising money for the Touchstone Foundation, helping children and youth cover the costs of mental health services. You can donate during event registration on the event link in our bio.

We are in week 3 of mental health awareness month!

We are in week 3 of mental health awareness month! This week we are highlighting how words matter when it comes to being a mental health advocate or support to a loved one who is experiencing emotional pain.

💚 We want to work together to use person-first language and avoid derogatory terms. The words we choose have the power to break down prejudice/discrimination and bring acceptance and compassion.

💚 We also want to work on our validating statements, offering others empathy and not judgement. We can acknowledge the value of one another’s experiences and what they share with us.

💚 Check out the next few slides for some examples we have found of both person-first language and validation. Together we can work at shifting our words to be more empowering and encouraging.

*Note that language is always changing as we continue to learn better ways to support one another. Staying current with this stuff is hard and there needs to be room for grace when we inevitably mess up!

As mental health month continues, we are highlight

As mental health month continues, we are highlighting one of our favorite and very important strategies for managing mental and emotional wellness: self-care.

Life has so many stressors and we want to remind each other that’s it’s okay to take breaks and regroup when we need to. We can find small ways to care for our mental health each day which is essential to our overall health and quality of life.

Self-care looks a little different for everyone which is the beauty of it! Some ideas:
-daily affirmations
-getting some fresh air
-talking with a friend
-taking a break/nap
-moving our bodies in a way that feels good
-writing in a gratitude journal
-shutting off our phone
-creating something or coloring
-listening to music
-baking
-meditating
-going to bed early
-playing a game

There are so many ideas and making little choices for ourselves like this goes such a long way!

May is Mental Health Awareness Month! Definitely a big deal for our Hope Noted community. 💚

Throughout the month we’ll be sharing some thoughts to recognize what this month means to us.

Today we want to spread acceptance, validation and support for the people we know and love (including ourselves) who are experiencing mental health challenges.

Talking about mental and emotional wellness with one another helps promote acceptance and encourages people to seek help when struggling.

Simply being there for someone when they need us, instills hope and can help others to reach out in times of distress.

“I’m here for you.” “I love you.” “How’s your heart today?” “I dropped off some takeout outside on your porch.” “I’m going for a walk, want to join me?” Small actions and loving words matter so much. 💚

If you are worried about your mental health or about someone you know, there are resources and people out there who are willing to help, no matter what your situation is. You are not alone. A simple contact to remember that you can call or text is 988 for judgment-free support 24/7.
